Field Manager

Burhan Uçar completed his higher education in Electrical Engineering at Dicle University and began his professional career at Mobil Exploration Med. Inc., PETROM, and Transatlantic Petroleum. He subsequently worked in various managerial positions at Viking International until his retirement.

At Mobil Exploration Med. Inc., he started as a Warehouse Supervisor and later continued as Warehouse Manager. However, following the company's split in 2011, he continued his career at Viking International as Diyarbakır Field Manager and Global Inventory Manager.

During his tenure at Mobil Exploration Med. Inc. and Transatlantic Petroleum Turkey, he was responsible for the following tasks and personnel:

  • Managing 3 main warehouses and over 20 personnel,
  • Monitoring the minimum-maximum stock levels of critical materials,
  • Improving warehouse layout to utilize space more effectively and enhance workflow efficiency,
  • Managing inventory to ensure effective oil exploration and production operations,
  • Counting, labeling, and assigning shelf numbers to received materials,
  • Ensuring all warehouses are clean and well-maintained,
  • Organizing and filing all necessary documents for received and delivered materials.

At Viking International, Burhan Uçar initially worked as Turkey Warehouses and Diyarbakır Field Manager, responsible for the following tasks:

  • Managing 3 main warehouses and approximately 66 acres of field,
  • Overseeing incoming and outgoing logistics, coordinating with carriers and suppliers to ensure timely and accurate delivery of materials,
  • Monitoring the minimum-maximum stock levels of critical materials,
  • Conducting periodic stock counts,
  • Ensuring a safe working environment that complies with occupational safety standards for all personnel, equipment, and vehicles on site,
  • Working closely with relevant authorities to ensure legal compliance on site,
  • Reporting total stock quantities to senior management,
  • Verifying that daily received and delivered materials are accurately recorded in the system,
  • Confirming the receipt of ordered materials and notifying the requesting departments,
  • Participating in the company's physical count and third-party audit services.

As a result of his successful work, the senior management of Viking International appointed Burhan Uçar as Global Inventory Manager, responsible for the following tasks in Turkey, Iraq, Romania, and Hungary:

  • Managing main and additional warehouses,
  • Monitoring minimum-maximum stock levels based on operational needs,
  • Setting up warehouses for all operational units and tracking actual monthly consumption,
  • Conducting periodic stock counts,
  • Ensuring all warehouses are organized and shelf arrangements comply with company procedures,
  • Ensuring accuracy of monthly consumption reports in all countries for financial and P&L reporting,
  • Recording daily stock entries in the stock control program for all country warehouses,
  • Checking if ordered materials are available in warehouse stocks and arranging their dispatch if present. If not, forwarding the request to the procurement department,
  • Analyzing the suitability of ordered materials for operational needs and delivery times to prevent disruptions,
  • Regularly checking stock reports to track critical spare parts,
  • Participating in the company's physical count and third-party audit services.

To perform the above-defined tasks, Burhan Uçar has developed the following computer skills:

  • Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Traverse, IDEAS, Presto Plus Stock Control Programs, Power BI, SharePoint

After retiring from Viking International, Burhan Uçar joined Ertürk Group as “Ertürk Group Warehouses and Diyarbakır Field Manager” to contribute in his areas of expertise.
